109 Hiring a wedding planner is one way to take away some of the stress of your wedding day. Joanna Shepphard, owner of Valia Rose Events, says that after years of planning, she is able to know all and execute all. Her goal is to tell a couple's love story through a stress-free process while crafting timeless details and memories to last a lifetime. Joanna began her company three years ago to turn her love of production design and organizing celebrations into a successful wedding planning business. She said organization and relationships are the key to success. Valia Rose Events offers planning, event design and day of coordination. Joanna said that everything about the planning process and wedding day excites and ignites her. What sets her apart from other planners is that she is very personal and has an open-door policy. She is heavily involved in the details of the day, which eliminates the need for multiple vendors. However, the vendors she works with also strive for perfection and are just as reliable as she is. 2b | Photography Joanna's diverse clientele and experience with various cultural ceremonies doesn't allow her to have one style of wedding that she can plan or design, and she can execute your event at any venue. Joanna's specialty is creating wow factors and transforming rooms to fit the wedding theme. Every wedding she creates is custom and representative of the couple and their love story. She loves every moment of the wedding day and remains close to her brides after the events are complete. Sometimes things go on behind the scenes that Joanna and her team handle without the bride ever knowing. These include repairing shattered glass tables and ripped bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen who have had too much to drink and consoling grief-stricken mothers not ready to let their baby girls go. Joanna said that love inspired her to enter the wedding industry as a planner. "Love is the most beautiful thing and to be able to curate an event around it is so rewarding to me," Joanna said.
