167 A A Built in 1905, the historic Donnelly House is the perfect venue for a true Southern wedding. As the designer for KG Designs, Andy Hopper's keen eye is able to bring out the full charm of this distinguished home with colorful florals, silver accents and, of course, magnolia leaves – a Southern staple. The bride wears the stunning Peony gown from Blue Willow Bride by Anne Barge (available at The White Room). The sleeveless Sabrina neckline, beaded bodice and full A-line skirt of organza make this gown sweet and classic with the modern touch of blush. To create a unique ceremony setting, cherub statuaries have been draped with garlands and eye-catching magnolia wreaths. Inside the mansion, The Happy Catering Co. presents the defining aspect of any Southern gathering – plenty of good, delicious food. During cocktail hour, guests can sample bites from the hors d'oeuvres that have been spread beautifully and presented on the grand dining table. The cherub candelabras mirror the ceremony setting as a testament to how the event designer creates a cohesive story for a wedding. For dinner service by the fireplace, an heirloom caprese salad with balsamic vinaigrette is served before the entree of grilled lamb chops with polenta cakes and spinach orzo salad. Afterward, a decadent display of desserts awaits guests, boasting martini glasses filled with banana pudding, pecan pie, apple pie or even Chocolate Mousse as well as bites of Key lime tarts, dark chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries in edible spoons. After greeting the new couple with first dances, the cakes by Klingler's bakery are ready to be cut. With both a buttercream ruffled bridal cake and bourbon pecan pie groom's cake, guests are sure to have a sugar rush to keep them on the dance floor long into the night.
