198 A A H Video on Demand Documenting the sights and sounds of your wedding in a way that only video can, Lancy Holloway of Holloway Productions shares insight on hiring a professional videographer. Brides love the fact they get to see so much of what they missed during the craziness of the wedding day," said Holloway. "I also hear from brides and grooms years later telling me how thankful they are to be able to go back and watch video of a grandparent or parent who is no longer alive. I think those are things a lot of people don't really think about when they are planning their wedding. A picture freeze's a moment in time, but video brings that moment back to life." "Don't hire a friend or a friend-of-a-friend unless they are a true, experienced professional," said Holloway. "There are so many little nuances that happen during a wedding day for which an inexperienced person won't be prepared. Don't just book someone based on a 'demo' they put together of their best shots from several different weddings. Look at their work as a whole, and look at the consistency. For us we only offer 'full day' packages, which is eight or more hours," said Holloway. "We always have two videographers and three high- defnition cameras and a wireless microphone. The fnished product is usually one to two hours in length and shows the whole journey of the day - from the time they get there and start getting ready until they leave and everything in between. It's beautifully edited with music, titles, details, etc. Then, we also craft a beautiful music video, which is a highlight reel of the entire day that is condensed into three to fve minutes of the best, most heart-warming moments of the day. This music video goes online to share with friends and family and the world, if they so choose. We offer DVD, Blu-ray, USB and external hard drive delivery. Our packaging is a-la-carte so the couples can really fne-tune a package that fts them perfectly. The music videos are really our forte and what most people who book us really love. We take the most pride in them, and they really feel like a big-budget, professionally produced music video of the most important day of a couple's lives." "The biggest advantage is that a professional isn't going to miss anything important. There are so many things that could go wrong - and usually one of two things do - and an inexperienced person won't be ready to know how to handle those things. Having shot over 300 weddings, we have seen it all and are prepared for anything. We also have the proper equipment for the best results." ow is a wedding video different from photography?
