Before the show, Theatre Tuscaloosa's Executive Producer told the cast to stay on stage after the show for a presentation given by the president of Shelton State. Instead of the president coming onstage, it was Nick! He told the story of how they met and then got down on one knee. Nick had also invited both sides of the family to witness the special moment. House Divided As a former captain of The University of Alabama Crimsonettes, Courtney was joined by her fellow majorettes at the reception to perform a routine to "Yea, Alabama." In a surprise response, Clay, a former drum major for the Auburn University Marching Band, brought some of his former bandmates to give a rendition of "War Eagle," followed by "Glory to Ole Auburn." Afterward, a rousing round of "Roll Tide!" and "War Eagle!" sounded across the grounds of Rucker Place, truly making this the "Iron Bowl of Weddings."
