38 A A Once you've been given the quick guide on "How To Get Married" at your ceremony venue, it's time to begin the festivities with the Rehearsal Dinner. This event is usually hosted by the groom's family and therefore often has a more masculine feel than the wedding ceremony or reception. Jackie Rowell of Jackie Rowell Events has created a nature-inspired dinner with a woodsy cheese board, grilled fatbreads, bourbon tastings and more. The Plan "For the Rehearsal Dinner, the designer, Ricky Whitley, and I met at Bromberg's to determine our concept. We decided we wanted to present an event that best represented the groom and his tastes. Since a rehearsal dinner is usually a seated event, we decided to emphasize the place setting and accessories more than the food itself. The foral design would complement our theme as well. We chose chargers, plates and serving pieces with a fall, woodsy theme to maintain our masculine vibe. We also carried out the theme by using wooden elements, feathers, berries and horn-trimmed elements. On the day of the shoot, we found the perfect setting at the venue to accommodate our shoot and by using food elements such as cheese, breads and fruits, we were able to achieve our masculine, woodsy look. If possible, see all elements, decor and samples of food before pulling the actual event together.
