40 A A The fun doesn't have to stop at the reception! For couples hosting a number of friends and family from out of town, a farewell brunch is a wonderful gesture to ensure you've seen them again before they head back to their respective homes. This is also works well for a destination wedding. Andy Hopper of KG Designs shows how the South does brunch with style and sophistication at The Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Sweet potato beignets, mini eggs Benedict, polenta fries and spicy Bloody Marys on the menu suddenly make this the most anticipated event of the enitre wedding weekend. The Plan "A fabulous brunch is always a relaxed and enjoyable way to wind down a wedding weekend. My thought was to create a fun way to display some personal favorites of brunch food. I love a cocktail garnish of substance and the this Bloody Mary has a 'no holds barred' garnish. Food should be fun and visually appealing for guests. Using different heights for display and wonderful colors make for a beautiful buffet. Mini plates and small bites make for easy conversation and allow guests to move about and mingle." -Andy Hopper, KG Designs A great Bloody Mary starts with good vodka and mixings, but is given all its character by its garnishes. Celery, citrus and pickles always make good choices, but Kathy G. & Co. has taken it to a much more decadent level with a whole mini hamburger. Now that's how it's done! Farewell Brunch Catering: Kathy G. & Co. Floral Design & Planner: KG Designs. Photography: Nick Frontiero Photography. Venue: Hill Garden at Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
